The meetings will be held in the third floor of MSB, with a banquet at
noon in the Michigan Rooms. The banquet includes a keynote address by Dr.
Ron Roberts of the University of Northern Iowa, author of MOTHER JONES AND
HER SISTERS: A CENTURY OF WOMEN ACTIVISTS IN THE AMERICAN COAL FIELDS.
His address will be titled "Confessions of a Renegade Sociologist." The
banquet will also include presentations of the Charles Horton Cooley award
for Scholarly contribution to Michigan Sociology, the Marvin Olsen
Distinguished Service Award and awards for the student paper competition.
Preregistration is $35 for faculty and $15 for students, on-site
registration is $5 more. Registration begins at 8:00 in the 3rd floor
lounge of Murchie. Fee includes free coffee and pastries, lunch, one year
membership in MSA and subscription to MICHIGAN SOCIOLOGICAL REVIEW, which
will be handed out at the conference. Interested parties may send
preregistration fee to Professor Bill Farrell (conference organizer) in
the Sociology Department. (Make checks payable to Michigan Sociological
Association.)
