Information, Intervention and Referral

Social Workers are available to provide information about agency services as well as local community resources. Referrals to other agencies are made as needed. Intervention on behalf of a client is provided when needed following an intake interview. General casework services and limited financial assistance are provided.   For more information call Lynda at (810)-767-5922.

Russian Resettlement and Acculturation

With help from the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), newly arrived Russian immigrants are assisted in resettlement to the Flint area.  The Flint Jewish community accepts free cases of  refugees who have no relatives in Flint as well as reunification cases.   From the beginning, when an apartment is arranged and orientation is provided, volunteers and staff play an important role in the resettlement process for each new member of the community. Ongoing programs and services help the new families become more acculturated to their new community. Programs include English classes, job placement, speakers, social events and a Senior Day Club.  For further information call Irina at 810-767-5922.

Shalom Flint

Newcomers are welcomed to the Flint Jewish community through this welcome wagon project. Welcome packets are distributed to newcomers including a directory of resources for the Jewish and general community. For further information call Yuliya at 810-767-5922.
