Endowment Funds

The Flint Jewish Federation has several endowment funds which directly support the operation of FJF, special programs, and Jewish Community Services.  

The Flint Jewish Federation has several Endowment funds available to assist students with scholarships for education and Israel travel.  In addition, through a FJF allocation, Jewish Community Services has funds available for various Jewish Continuity opportunities, e.g. Pamin el Panim, overnight resident camps, Israel travel.  The funds provided are not need based.  For further information about obtaining a grant from the following funds, contact Yuliya at JCS, 767-5922.

Agree Scholarship - Income may only be distributed for the purposes of higher educational scholarships and free loans.

Bernard Scholarship - Income may only be distributed for the purposes of providing youth scholarships for Israel Travel.

Leavitt Camp Scholarship - Income may only be distributed for the purposes of providing, Camp Maccabi scholarships.

Louis & Anne Lebster Fund - Income may only be distributed for the purposes of advanced Jewish education and culture among Flint Jewish youth.

Stanley Educational Fund - Income may only be distributed for the purpose of scholarships from nursery school through college for educational purposes within the United States.

Pelavin Leadership Award -  Income may only be distributed for the purposes of the Annual Leadership Development Award to participate in the General Assembly of the Council of Jewish Federations.

Salimi Seniors - Income may only be distributed for the purposes of funding Senior Programs of Jewish Community Services.

Israel and Ira Sendler Memorial Youth Israel Travel Scholarship - Income may only be distributed for the purposes of helping to fund teenagers on an Israel Travel Program.

Schafer Scholarship -  Income may only be distributed for the purposes of interest free loans and / or vocational education scholarships for teachers, counselors and computer training for college juniors and seniors.

Sonia Schafer Award  - Income may only be distributed for the purposes of the Women's Division Campaign Leadership Award for a scholarship to cover her participation on a UJA Leadership Development mission within one year of receiving award.

Ruth Dodge Permanent Annual Campaign Endowment -   Income may only be distributed for the purposes of local UJA / Federation Annual campaign, in perpetuity.

Dora Gold Endowment - Income and corpus is available only for the purpose of funding programs for the Jewish elderly provided by JCS.

General Endowments - Unrestricted
