Poems for "River Jude Phoenix"

The following poems are by me, Author: Michael A. Zammit.

Poem: "Across The Rio Grand"

Across the way in Rio is my future home

Its a nice little home thats made of stone.

Theres a river that flows clear near bye

For it gathers all the tears I cry.

One day I will leave this dirty city place

And i'll drop right out of the human race.

To live in peace and enjoy lifes simple days

Forget all the money and its evil ways.

For life is not all about money and greed!

Few make millions while theres many in need.

But to live in Rio would be so nice and wild

It makes me want to act like a little child.

A child at play in the mid-day sun

nothing to fear and no reason to run.

Happy with life and all its simple joys

Away from all of them electronic toys.

Poem: "Broken Hearted"

By: Michael A. Zammit

So here I sit all broken hearted

Wondering how our lifes got started.

And why are some people so damm cruel

Do they think were blind and all just fools.

Its easy to hate people, but so hard to mend

This feeling I have will it ever end.

Im your captain and im lost in a sea of sadness

Writing my thoughts down to forget my madness.

If I disappear to a place were nobodys knows me

Will I will get a second chance and truly be free.

So lets say I stay here all loaded with fear

How will I ever get to meet you with cheer.

Alone with my thoughts I sit and wait

Fearing the next terrible debate.

In love with your talent, its as pure as gold.

You were never hateful, bought or sold.

A pure kind passion with all that you did.

Your soul was clean and just like a kid.

In my dreams your still much the same

Your love is lost, but it still remains.

Poem: "Life is our Rainforests"

By: Michael A. Zammit

Our world is much bigger than most of us can see

Our Rainforests are shrinking as we wonder what will be.

Oh what would it be like to go visit such a wonderful place

Before the chainsaws chop down more trees and create more space.

But to live there would be a dream for so many

Why would they escape the land of the good and plenty.

Well here is a reason to change your views

Dont listen to me now, just watch the news.

Theres not much time left if were going to care

How much more killing can we stand or beware.

The warnings we have heard for over 20 years

Does any of this help to increase our fears?

So how can people sit there and say the problems to big

Setting ourselfs up for the graves that we dig.

We all know something can be done right now.

How can we sit here and watch them plow.

Cutting and plowing the land to grow more food is good

But not when its destroying 500 years of wood!

The millions of species of wild life that will be killed.

God must be watching and he's not very thrilled!

Poem: "Natures Pure"

By: Michael A. Zammit

Natures is pure for all to enjoy and love

Its complex and its simple as a morning dove.

The gods smiled when they made our earth

Before we were all born our land gave birth.

Birth of life filled the land from east to west

No place was tainted it was all the best.

We make life easy but hard at the same time

Now nature is unbalenced, aint that a crime!

Do we care about our future really at all?

Or do we just build some more shopping malls.

Kinda makes me sick to think the malls are better

While our earth becomes more soaked and wetter.

Floods out of nowhere claim many lifes and homes

Human life becomes just more dust and bones.

So are we men or are we mice?

And who will be next to roll the dice?

Do we build some more buildings and destroy the rest?

Maby open some stores full of things from a treasure chest.

Are some developers all this lame and insane

Do they not feel and hear the earths pain?

Poem : "Saving Life"

By: Michael A. Zammit

Dedicated to: River Jude Phoenix

To hear the earths crys is considered a gift

River listened so close and acted so swift.

He drew attention to many of lifes matters

Only to hear the media of chatters.

The top of the charts was not on his mind

Just for people to listen and not be blind.

Blind to the fact that our world may be dying

He hated to see animals hurting and crying.

Many people listen to him, but do not hear.

Why must us and our environment be living in fear!

River knew he could not change the days of past

But he was hoping to make this journey last.

Before we were all born the world was not crying

How can we say that our earth is not dying?

Saving life is not going to be easy

But better to try than to be all cheesy!

We all come from the same old mother earth.

So lets give her the attention ya know shes worth.

Poem: Sleeping by the River

By: Michael A. Zammit

While Im sleeping I feel no pain,

For all my tears they turn to rain.

A cool wind blows across my face,

Im longing for a far off place.

A place far away where there is no pain.

Long summer days that are never in vain.

My exotic place exsist somewhere I know,

Hope I can get there and be happy and grow.

All our technology makes us all so numb.

Sure were smart, but were also so dumb.

Were numb to hurting ourselfs and life.

Look at the butchers battle with a knife!

How can the river be so simple and pure.

And how can humans just hope for a cure.

For hope is not saving it, nor is prayer.

Its people that care and are well aware.

Poem: "The Falling angle"

Author: Michael A. Zammit

You had the world at your feet

Even for the people that you would never meet.

Then terrible tragedy struck us on Halloween day.

Never did we think we would have to morn and pray.

You almost caused our world to end

Fan mail we wrote but never to send.

Saving the planet was first on your mind

You would deal with the media critics time after time.

As lonesome as empty benches in the sun

But never in life did that spoil your fun.

Oh so sorrowfull to watch you fall

We heard the news and our lifes just stalled.

So many crying fans at your plight

A river of tears runs thru there sight

Quite resenting anger filled our souls from the very start

But we know your essence will always stay in our heart.

Oh such agony that you perished while playing your part

The tears in my eyes I can no longer depart.

An angel of grace laid to rest on the dawn of halloween.

Many people gathered around for a site that was unseen.

Your downfall almost caused our world to end

But we have your heart and soul here to extend

All those tears we shed, let them turn into blood

let our grieving be painful as remorsing a flood.

We were at your side like in Stand By Me,

Still begging that you may never let us be.

But as cruel as the flames torching our souls

Our lifes go on facing even more tolls.

If you never slow down you never grow old

You never really did and you were so bold.

So maby we will meet again River in the end

All of us fans to reunite once again.

Its then that we can ask you all those important things

And hope you have answers to the question we bring.

Poem: The Warrior of Truth

By: Michael A. Zammit

Love, kindness, beauty and grace,

No one will ever take your place.

Fame, money, greed or power,

Not one did you seek in your darkest hour.

A deep respect for all you have been thru

Never for a moment did we ever forget you.

Stand By Me, you did, time after time

Line after line and always on time.

Conviction you gave, like the free and the brave.

Environmental concerns made you a slave.

Style and grace, in life and on the screen.

Your memory lives on for all to be seen!

Poem: "Missing You"

Author: Michael A. Zammit

Every day River im still missing you,

Admiring all the things you could do.

I try to forget you sometimes so I dont become obsesed,

But everytime I try to forget you, I just beocome depressed.

Because to me you were the best kind of friend anyone could know,

From your early years I saw you on tv. and watched you grow.

From a little kid to a adult your acting was so grand,

So real and so captivating nothing ever seem planned.

You had so much music in your soul River,

All your music melodys make me quiver.

Very painfull feelings of missing you,

I really loved everything that you do.

When I see a sign with the word "River" in its name,

I cant help to think of you and feel so much pain.

Never did I think I would feel this way for a stranger,

But you seemed so bright when my life was in danger.

A reason to live and do better in life you provided,

You convinced me our world was becomming divided.

But you never gave up on your beliefs untill the very end,

Love you gave to the planet, and so much more to send.

You spent so much of your life in your dreams,

An often sometimes you were never seen.

So mature in life compared to most our age.

You knew you had purpose and focused your rage.

A slave to whats real and important to us all,

The Sunset Stripe was were you would fall.

Oh such a perfect day for you to jam at the Viper Room,

How could you have known that it might be your doom.

So if wonders really do happen, then I will see you again,

Maby this time River we can really be friends.
